Dress Code 2023-2024
The purpose of being a uniformed school is to assure each student a structured and noncompetitive environment. Adherence to the dress code is mandatory. Parents are expected to help enforce the regulations concerning the dress code. All students should be in full uniform every day. A student must present a written note to their teacher if for some reason they cannot wear their uniform. Children out of uniform will be spoken to by their teacher or the Principal. Repeated failure to comply with the uniform code will result in a Dress Code Violation slip being issued. Administrative action may result.

Uniform blouses, shirts, trousers, slacks, polo shirts must be purchased from this vendor. Allen’s has a strong online platform – many of our uniform items are currently discounted.
General Appearance
- Uniforms should be clean, pressed, buttons attached and hems intact.
- Shirttails are to be tucked into the waistband – girls and boys.
- Length of Jumpers, Skirts, Dresses or Shorts – Girls must adhere to the “longer than fingertip length” when wearing uniform skirts, jumpers and shorts or 2 inches above the knee.
- Shoelaces must be tied at all times. Please make sure that children know how to tie their own shoes and sneakers.
- Hair must be clean and neat with bangs above the eyebrows.
- Hair coloring and or bleaching is not permitted for boys or for girls.
- Boys’ hair should be trimmed around the ears and not touch the shirt collar.
- No excessive or faddish hairstyles are permitted for boys or girls.
- No bandanas or scarves to be worn as headbands.
Cosmetics and Nail Polish
- No cosmetics of any type may be worn. Clear Chapstick or lip balm is allowed.
- No colored nail polish or artificial nails may be worn. Clear nail polish is allowed.
- Jewelry – Girls may wear small non-dangle earrings.
- Boys are not allowed to wear earrings.No bracelets or necklaces for boys or for girls.
- Tattoos – No visible tattoos, including temporary tattoos, or body piercings of any kind are permitted.
Girls – Kindergarten to Grade 8 Uniforms
- Girls K-3 Standard Uniform – After Columbus Day Holiday until the Monday after April Vacation
- Plaid jumper, white oxford blouse, navy cardigan sweater, navy knee socks or tights.
- Navy leggings may be worn under jumpers. Socks must be worn and match the leggings
- Walking shoes with ties, straps, Velcro closings – Shoes should be brown, black or navy in color. No winter boots to be worn indoors.
- Solid black low cut sneakers are allowed – Black or white soles, no colored ties, and no colored decorations. No high top sneakers.
- STB plaid, solid red, white, navy blue, grey or black hairbands or hair bows, No sequins, glitter, wolf ears, etc.
- Uniform navy sweatshirt for outdoor wear only. Non-uniform sweatshirts are not allowed.
Girls – K-3 Optional Uniforms
- Fall & Spring Start of School until Columbus Day and after April Vacation
- Navy shorts with belt, white polo with school emblem. White or navy ankle or knee socks.
- Winter After Columbus Day Holiday until the Monday after April Vacation
- Navy pants with belt, white oxford blouse, navy blue cardigan sweater, navy uniform sweatshirt.
- Girls 4-8 Standard Uniform After Columbus Day Holiday until the Monday after April Vacation
- Navy or grey skirt – no shorter than 2” above the knee, white oxford blouse, grey or navy V-neck sweater, navy or grey knee socks or tights.
- Navy or grey leggings may be worn under skirts. Socks must be worn and match the leggings.
- Walking shoes with tie, strap or Velcro closings. Shoes should be brown, black or navy in color. Girls in Grades 6, 7, & 8 may wear Sperry type slip-ons; no ballerina type flats are permitted for girls of any grade. No winter boots to be worn indoors.
- Solid black low cut sneakers are allowed – Black or white soles, no colored ties, and no colored decorations – No high top sneakers.

Boys - Kindergarten - Grade 8 Uniforms
- Boys K-5 Standard Uniform – After Columbus Day Holiday until the Monday after April Vacation
- Navy pants, belt, light blue polo, navy blue V-neck sweater, navy or dark colored socks – Socks must rise over ankle bone.
- Walking shoes with tie, strap, or Velcro closings or sturdy slip on styles – Shoes should be brown, black or navy in color. No winter boots to be worn indoors.
- Solid black low cut sneakers are allowed – Black or white soles, no colored ties, and no colored decorations – No high top sneakers
- Navy uniform sweatshirt for outdoor wear only. Non-uniform sweatshirts are not allowed
Boys - K - 5 optional Uniforms
- Fall & Spring Start of School until Columbus Day and after April Vacation
- Navy shorts with belt, light blue polo – White or navy ankle or knee socks
- Boys 6-8 Standard Uniform – After Columbus Day Holiday until the Monday after April Vacation
- Navy pants with belt, short or long sleeve light blue oxford shirt, navy or grey V-neck sweater, navy tie, navy or dark colored socks – Socks must rise above ankle bone
- Walking shoes with tie, strap, or Velcro closings – Shoes should be brown, black or navy in color. No winter boots to be worn indoors. Boys in Grades 6, 7, & 8 may wear Sperry type slip-ons.

- Athletic sneakers with socks – No high top sneakers
- Athletic sneakers for gym are NOT limited to black.
